Emilio J. Weber (he/him)

Emilio first came to the program via an interest in geography, data analysis, and Urban Studies at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. The program allows him to marry his love for sports with a commitment to pushing for positive social change through research focusing on communities, urban space, and cultural studies. He is excited to get started with research and writing projects. Emilio has experience using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and is excited to incorporate maps and spatial analysis into community level problems in urban spaces, with a focus on revealing the systems which subjugate. Currently he is exploring the possibilities of a project related to the Preserve Edgely initiative in Philadelphia. He is from Pittsburgh and lived in Philadelphia for the last two years, mentoring and tutoring students at City Year. He plays ultimate frisbee somewhat competitively and basketball and soccer somewhat less so.
